Why you received IRS Letter 4458C
- You either filed a tax return with a balance due, or the IRS filed a return on your behalf.
- You set up an installment agreement to pay off the balance due.
- You missed a payment on your installment agreement.
- The IRS sends Letter 4458 to notify you that a second payment was missed. You are asked to contact the IRS to make up the missed payments or, if necessary, re-negotiate the terms of the installment agreement.
Notice deadline: 30 days
If you miss the deadline: Your installment agreement will be canceled.
