Why you received IRS Notice CP19
- You filed an original tax return.
- When processing the return, the IRS determined that a credit or deduction on the return would not be allowed.
- You received a CP18 notifying you that part of the expected refund was being withheld, pending further review.
- The IRS sent CP19 to explain which item was not allowed. The notice also informs you that because of the changes made to the return, a balance is now due.
Notice deadline: 30 days
If you miss this deadline: Additional penalties and interest will accrue.
