Why you received IRS Notice CP32A
- You filed a tax return with the IRS which resulted in a refund.
- The refund check the IRS sent you was never cashed. The refund check is only valid for one year and has expired.
- The IRS sent CP32A to notify you that the original refund check is no longer valid. The IRS will not mail a replacement check until you respond. Once you respond, you should receive your refund within 30 days. If you still have the original check, it should be destroyed.
