Incomplete for Processing

IRS Definition

If information is missing, the IRS will either return the form or send a notice asking you for specific information it needs to finish processing your return. Simply send the information to the address on the notice or call the number on the notice if you have questions.

More from H&R Block

If your tax return is missing a signature, a schedule, or other required information, the IRS will send you a notice (often Letter 12C) to let you know additional information is needed to process your return. Respond to the notice by the deadline or the IRS may not allow the item in question. If a signature is missing, the IRS will not process the return.
