With more than 10,000 offices across the country, H&R Block is at the heart of nearly every community in the United States. When we prepare taxes, we are helping friends, neighbors and families. It is because we call so many communities home that now more than ever, your safety and wellbeing are top of mind as the COVID-19 pandemic spreads across the country.
First, I want to thank our H&R Block franchisees and associates who are working hard to make sure you get your refund and meet the April 15 tax filing deadline. We understand how important refunds are to households right now. We are here, with a variety of ways to help, and we are taking additional steps to protect your safety and that of our franchisees and associates as together we navigate these unprecedented times.
The wellbeing of our associates
The wellbeing of our associates is of significant importance. While we want to help you prepare your taxes, we also want our associates to stay healthy. We are increasing office cleanings, we have signs up asking those who are sick to not enter the office and call to make other arrangements, we are prohibiting air travel and providing alternative work arrangements when possible. We will do what we can to minimize the number of people in our office, including encouraging our clients to limit the number of people they bring to their tax appointment. Finally, we are putting in place important new policies to help associates based on a variety of different circumstances they may face as a result of this pandemic.
Drop off your tax documents – no need to wait
While we will continue to provide in-person tax help in most of our offices, we are encouraging clients to utilize our drop-off process to reduce in-person interactions. If you typically meet with one of our tax pros to prepare your return, now instead, simply bring your documents to our office and our tax pros will do the work without you having to wait. They will call with any questions and you can even review and approve your return electronically. Our drop-off services are an important way we can support your wellbeing and that of our tax pros, too.
Work with a tax pro virtually
You can also choose to work with a tax pro virtually using Tax Pro Go – upload your documents using a mobile device and the tax pro does the rest without you ever visiting an office. And, if you would like to prepare your own return, we offer do-it-yourself online services and desktop software. Bottom line, we’re here to help, and there are many ways we can get you the refund you really need at this time.
